God Emperor of Dune - Less plotting, less death! Leto is the Emperor and everyone hates him. 
Heretics of Dune - Somethingsomething years after Leto's death, the Empire is in chaos and everyone gets sexy.
Chapterhouse Dune - The Clone Wars.

To quote a pimp post on tumblr: "You’ve got politics, religion, warfare, messiah figures, culture clashes, giant sandworms, drugs, crazy ninja shit IN THE DESERT, ecology, environmentalism, empires, you name it, it’s there." I would totally recommend the first three books. Dune is the least craziest one and God Emperor of Dune is great, but you should have a lot of tissues. Heretic of Dune + Chapterhouse Dune have new characters, but they are AWESOME characters (LIKE THE MOTHERFUCKING MILES TEG), so I would say read those too.
